Jenny MacKendrick studied drawing and applied arts at the University of the West of England which involved a lot of welding. It's nearly 20 years on and she doesn't have any welding equipment so now has to entertain herself in other ways. Having spent time building a reputation as a nursery illustrator and designer maker in Bristol and created the stitch-ink brand Jenny has gone in search of something new and exciting. Alongside nursery illustration Jenny can now most often be found drinking tea in her studio and working on greetings card and pattern design, book illustration, and projects for a number of private clients.
Jenny's work generally involves playing with line, colour, pattern and texture with themes including the every day, nature, character and humour. Jenny is open to commissions and freelance work as well. Hurrah! |
Jenny also likes to hang out occasionally with all the very talented brillustrators - have a spy on their page - they're all fantastic and get up to all sorts of exciting stuff like drawing in bookshop windows and visiting schools to draw all over walls and things... as well as having a list of books they've written or illustrated as long as your arm!
